Experience

1974 - 1990 Career in banking

Culminating in the role of Commercial Lending Manager.

Experience included marketing, training, mortgages, branch management, central advances department, and secondment to ‘Group' and ‘Regional' management roles.

1991 Established Sylvia Joyce Associates, Independent Financial Advisers.

Finalist IFA Woman of the Year 2003

2008 Achieved Chartered Status both individually and for the firm and re-launched the business as  "1st Chartered Financial Planning Ltd"  introducing more comprehensive and holistic financial planning services to the High Net Worth market.

 

Personally speaking.....

Sylvia is a Certified Financial Planner, a Chartered Financial Planner and founder of 1st Chartered Financial Planning.  Previously a commercial lender in a high street bank and ACIB qualified; Sylvia left banking in 1991 and founded a sole trader IFA practice working under her previous name of Sylvia Joyce Associates. 

The business re-launched in 2008 as 1st Chartered Financial Planning reflecting both Chartered status and the new focus on fully holistic financial planning. 

She lives on a small farm in the Ribble Valley where she keeps, breeds and trains dressage horses.  She lives with her husband Derek, two Labradors and is just as passionate about her life in the countryside as she is about financial planning.
